Lovers in Paris

$4,000.00

Lovers in Paris  is the latest Etch A Sketch drawing by Dave Roberts (2020). This is an original, one of a kind rendition of a young kissing couple strolling across the historic Pont Alexandre III in Paris. It was created on a classic Etch A Sketch, using just two knobs and a single line. Once the artwork is completed, the artist preserves his work by removing the excess powder and mechanical elements from inside the toy. This protects the drawing from being erased if it is shaken. This is a unique work that took dozens of hours to create.

About The Artist:

Casey Riordan (born 1973) began drawing at the age of three, creating anthropomorphic figures who have since informed her work. The woman, whose work would eventually be featured in galleries and museums, spent quite a bit of time in them growing up.

Shark Girl developed out of Casey’s childhood fear of sharks. In adulthood, Riordan began to notice that any feelings of fear she experienced presented with the same symptoms of her childhood phobia. Casey began identifying herself in drawings with the head of a shark. Eventually, the images morphed into the Shark Girl character we now know. Shark Girl primly wears a party dress with a large bow to counteract her dangerous visage. There is struggle between feelings of helplessness and power.
